Seminar 4: The Rule of Law and Human Rights in Cyberspace

Last but not least we are eager to announce our last seminar AND speaker for the conference! The theme of the fourth seminar is called: The Rule of Law and Human Rights in Cyberspace. In the current security landscape, cyberspace is one of the primary focuses of security practicioners. However, efforts to enhance security in cyberspace raise complex questions of how to protect human rights and uphold the rule of law in a new domain. Needless to say, if you’re interested to learn more about these complex questions make sure to register and buy your tickets soon!

Furthermore, we are happy to share that Dr. Els de Busser of Leiden University will be our speaker for this seminar and she will dive into the intricacies of cyber security and the rule of law in Europe.

Els de Busser

Dr. Els De Busser is Assistant Professor Cybersecurity Governance at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs at Leiden University. She specializes in multidisciplinary education and research. Els also conducts research on these topics and is the Principal Investigator for the NWO-funded project Cyber Security by Integrated Design (the C-SIDe project). She is a researcher in the The Hague Program for Cyber Norms and a member of the Standing Committee of Experts on International Immigration, Refugee and Criminal Law (also known as the Meijers Committee).
