REPORT: Networking event 14-4-22

On the 14th of April, the JASON Institute Activities Committee organised a networking event with renowned organisations of the security field.

The security and defence landscape is rapidly evolving, and many organisations in the Netherlands are at the forefront of these challenges. This networking event provided students and young-professionals with the opportunity to hear about what type of work the organisations conduct on a daily basis, gave insights into the emerging security challenges, as well offered a chance for the representatives of the organisations to pass on their tips and tricks to the next generation when it comes to entering the industry.

We were privileged to welcome representatives from the following organisations:

Signpost Six, G4S, ICCT – International Centre for Counter-Terrorism, PAX for peace, NATO, The Clingendael Institute, HCSS – The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies, JASON Institute and Maritime Security expert Marco Hekkens.

The event commenced with a welcome by Max Garcia Hoogland, the Chair of JASON Institute and Myrthe Mullié, JASON Institute Activities Committee Member. It then proceeded to three rounds of networking. Each participant was able to hear from three chosen organisations, as well as ask questions to them directly. The evening was concluded with remarks by JASON Institute Activities Committee Member Arianna Pearlstein and a borrel, allowing for more informal discussions to take place. For those who joined us, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

We would like to thank all of the participating representatives of the various organisations for taking the time and sharing their experiences in their respective fields. Lastly, we want to thank the participants for joining us in the event.
