The Future of EU Defence integration: Unity, Technology, and Policy in a Changing World.

In a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape, the question of deeper European defence integration is more pressing than ever. As Europe faces growing security threats, technological dependencies, and shifting alliances, the idea of a stronger and more unified EU defence policy is gaining momentum — but not without controversy.

What are the prospects for a truly integrated European defence? What political, strategic, and technological barriers must be overcome? And what might closer cooperation mean for national sovereignty, democratic oversight, and Europe’s global role?

Join us for an evening of discussion and exploration as we dive into the key questions shaping the future of European defence. The programme begins with a short keynote lecture, setting the stage with an overview of the EU’s current initiatives, political drivers, and potential risks related to defence integration. Following the keynote, participants will join one of three parallel breakout sessions, each offering a different perspective on the topic.
