Behind the screen: Social Media, Conflict, and Civil Unrest
JASON is excited to announce the first event of the year which is hosted by our Activities Committee: ”Behind the screen: Social Media, Conflict, and Civil Unrest”. The event will take place on the 27th February 2023 from 19.30-20.30 at FGGA Wijnhaven Room 3.46!
We will be hosting a panel discussion on the topic of social media during times of social unrest and (international) tensions. We have gathered experts from various backgrounds who will lead the discussions and offer a unique perspective on the topic. More importantly, you will have the opportunity to expand your network with experienced professionals and like-minded peers by debating this crucial topic and pose any burning questions you might have. The speakers we invited are: Babak Rezaeedaryakenari and Hajer Naili.
Babak Rezaeedaryakenari’s research broadly focuses on political violence and conflict resolution and he is primarily interested in studying the dynamics of dissent-repression. Hajer Naili is a former journalist and currently a communications and media expert specialized in humanitarian affairs, displacement, and conflict.
