Event Report – Professional Speed Dating Event

On the 12th of March, the JASON Institute Activities Committee organized a professional
networking event in a speed-dating format at Grand Café Utopie in The Hague, bringing
together students and young professionals interested in careers in international peace and
security.

During the evening, ten groups of participants rotated between five thematic sections, each
hosted by professionals working in different sectors. The sections focused on defence and
intelligence, international policy and peacebuilding, infrastructure and energy, international
affairs, and security consulting. This format allowed participants to speak directly with
professionals in a small-group setting and ask questions about their career paths, daily work,
and experiences in the field.

The rotations created an interactive and informal atmosphere, enabling participants to
gain insights into a wide range of career opportunities while making valuable professional
connections. The event provided participants with the opportunity to learn from practitioners
and receive practical advice on entering the job market within the fields of international
relations, security, and policy.

The Activities Committee of the JASON Institute would like to thank all speakers for
generously sharing their time and insights, as well as all participants for contributing to a
successful and engaging evening.
